Ian Huntley groomed & raped me, he’s an evil spineless coward who lied to my daughter, says mum of monster’s child

The mother of Soham killer Ian Huntley’s child has branded him an “evil, spineless coward” because of the “lies” he told their daughter.

Katie Bryan, 43, spoke of her horror after Samantha, 26, Huntley’s biological child, was sent a prison letter claiming he treated her mother with “nothing but love”.

Huntley, who killed 10-year-old schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002, never met Samantha because Katie ran away from their home when she was pregnant.

Katie, from Sheffield, says she was forced to have underage sex, raped, had her hair cut off and pushed down stairs while pregnant after she started having sex with him aged 15.

In a letter to her daughter, which was exclusively published in The Sun on Sunday last week, Huntley denied the allegations, writing: “I treated her with nothing but love, without a single act of violence.”

Katie, who waived her right to anonymity, accused the double murderer, currently serving a life sentence at HMP Frankland, of “trying to rewrite history”.

She said: “He uses the word ‘love’ for what we had. It was definitely the opposite. This is proof that he has not been rehabilitated.

“It proves he’s still a manipulative monster.

“When I read his pile of lies, I felt nothing but anger that he tried to minimize the horror of what he did to me.

“He raped me. Another time I burnt his tea and to punish me he made me eat cat food. The last straw came when I was pregnant and he punched me in the stomach and pushed me down the stairs.

“I left him for Sammy. She gave me the courage to go.”

Katie said she felt Huntley was trying to get revenge because she found the strength to escape.

She added: “I feel like he’s still trying to get to me inside. It’s about control. I got up and left and he didn’t like that.

“They should lock his cell door and throw away the key.”

The disappearance and murders of Holly and Jessica in Soham, Cambs, sparked one of the biggest manhunts in British criminal history.

Their bodies were found two weeks later, leading to a manhunt for their killer, which ended with the arrest of former school janitor Huntley.

He was found guilty in December 2003.
