Ilona Maher’s Emmy debut was absolutely golden.
The Olympic rugby player, 28, hit the 76th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet on Sept. 15 looking glam.
She wore a strapless midnight blue velvet dress accessorized with statement earrings, rings and bracelets. Her glamorous look consisted of a curled updo with face-framing pieces and her signature bold red lip (of course).

While dominating the carpet in her bombshell look, Maher stopped by to chat with PEOPLE and reveal who she thinks deserves an Emmy. “Everyone on Island of love should be nominated for an Emmy with the drama and absolute sizzle they bring to the screen,” she joked.

But not content with just one look, the upcoming one Dancing with the stars the competitor changed into a flowing purple dress with a sculptural bodice, which she wore when she and the other Olympic athletes were brought on stage during one of the category announcements.

Since returning home from the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she led Team USA to its first bronze medal, Maher has been very successful.
She made it in August Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut. “I was always, you know, called manly or whatever,” Maher told the newspaper. “But I never felt that way. But I don’t think you’re going to bully a girl who could probably beat you up in a fit of rage. I love it [rugby] he showed me what I could do. It showed me how capable my body is and is not just a tool to be observed and objectified.”

A month later, she was announced as a contestant of the 33rd season Dancing with the starsreturns on September 17. He will compete for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with Alan Bersten.
