Ilona Maher dazzled in three glamorous looks at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
The Olympic rugby player, 28, opened up about changing clothes three times at the 76th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 15 in a TikTok posted later in the evening.
“Did I change my outfit three times at the Emmys? I did, because I’m an extra,” Maher told the camera as she showed off her outfit for the after party, which consisted of a strapless black dress with a plunging v-neck. The look also featured side cutouts and was paired with pointed-toe heels and dangling gold earrings.
“And proud of it,” she captioned the fun post.

To kick off the evening, the athlete hit the red carpet in a midnight blue velvet Oscar de la Renta strapless peplum dress accessorized with statement earrings, rings and bracelets. Coming up Dancing with the stars the contestant then changed into a fluid gown, with a sculptural bodice and crimson train, which she wore when she was brought on stage to perform alongside swimmer Caeleb Dressel and gymnast Stephen Nederoscik, the “horse with the grips”.
Maher wore her hair in a curled updo with face-framing pieces and rocked her signature bold red lips for all three looks.
The Team USA star spoke with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony and revealed who she thinks deserves an Emmy. “Everyone on Love Island should be nominated for an Emmy with the drama and absolute sizzle they bring to the screen,” she joked.
Earlier this month, she was announced as a contestant for the upcoming season Dancing with the starswhich returns on September 17. He will compete for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with professional dancer Alan Bersten. Other contestants include The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks; Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Tori Spelling; convicted fraudster Anna Delvey, Nedoroscik and others.

Maher has built up a huge following on social media since her breakthrough at the Paris 2024 Olympics and has shared several inspirational messages about body positivity. She recently opened up about the hate she received when she was younger and how she learned to accept her body after receiving a heartfelt letter from a 9-year-old fan.
“I was always the bigger girl in sixth grade,” Maher said in a video response. “I remember when I was 130 pounds and I never understood why I was always bigger than everyone else? I didn’t understand that, but now I understand that this is my body and my body should be big and powerful and strong. And I think it’s the same with you.”
