I’m A Celebrity’s Dean McCullough ‘forced off afternoon show amid bullying row’

I’M A Celebrity’s Dean McCullough faced allegations he bullied BBC Radio One production staff – before being “forced” off his afternoon show.

The DJ has been moved from 1pm to 3.30pm with his co-host Vicky Hawkesworth on the graveyard shift to host Early Breakfast in February this year.

It came after producers refused to work with the 32-year-old, making his job in the afternoon slot “unviable”.

A Radio 1 source told MailOnline: “A lot of people who worked with Dean were really unhappy – and some of them made that very clear to bosses.

“They accused him of being a bully to the staff and they just didn’t want to continue working with him.

“Honestly, it ended up being just chaos – headliners were hired and producers were moved around to try and keep things on track, but it became unsustainable.”

His former co-presenter Vicky now presents at weekends, while Dean is based in a building in Manchester instead of the BBC’s London headquarters.

A BBC spokesman said: “We do not comment on individuals, but we take all allegations of inappropriate behavior very seriously and the BBC has robust processes in place to investigate them thoroughly.”

Dean caused controversy in the camp after falling out with Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall.

He was unhappy to be woken up by the Corrie star to complete his chores.

Hosts Ant and Dec also expressed their frustration after Dean went on to be voted to take part in the Bushtucker Trials.
