“What she endured from the inside – go out while she was already wounded heroic. Imagine not heading for the trip. He could have been there longer and no one would know.”

Joel also paid tribute to Leanne’s colleague Heidi Liddle, who tried to get her out of Rudakubana.

As she pushed her children toward the way out, a girl came across the toilet, so Heidi pulled behind her and locked her door and held her leg as Rudakubana tried to open it.

Joel said, “Leanne and Heidi just appeared to work and had no choice with what happened. They simply had to deal with it.

“I had a choice to get involved or not, but not.”

Joel helped his friend, the cleaner of the Marcin Tyjon window, doing their rounds on July 29 when they noticed the bloody Leanne down on the car in front of Hart Space.

Joel said the sun: “Her body then singled out and collapsed.

She did all that and then collapsed at the last minute. “

She said, “Enough love comes from Southport, a lot of love comes from all over the world. The influence was tragic, but sometimes there were some glitter. “

Joel also praised the way the local community gathered immediately after the attack.

He said, “People appeared to see what was going on and immediately when they realized that young girls were hurt, they did everything they could to help them. Everyone who did something did something that day were a hero.”

He continued to support the change of law to force the killers like a handle into a dock.

The coward refused to face the families of his victim while in prison. He earlier disturbed the hearing of his sentence, repeatedly claiming that he was ill in the best that the medics had given him everything obvious.

I was really happy to be guilty, so the families did not have to go through a full court case

Joel

Judge Mr Justice Goose ordered him to remove him from court after he was still shouting because the details of his terrible crimes were first appointed. Refused to return to the courtroom.

Joel, who spent hours giving the police a video interview in the days after the attack to help in the prosecution case, said: “I was really happy that he confessed to the guilt that the families did not have to go through a full court.

“But if you commit such a crime, 100 percent I believe you should be there to face punishment. That should be required.

“You should make you get up there behind a glass and everyone should be able to look at you how low you are a human being.”

Last Tuesday, Rudakubana again refused to leave his cell at HMP Belmarsh, this time for a video in court to solve a legal issue.

To be proud of the heroes

Richard Moriarty

Southport stabs were a low point in modern British history and led to difficult questions.

What caused a boy to deliberately kill three young girls and try to kill ten other people, two of whom were the adults who tried to stop him?

As a dad two young boys, it was incomprehensible. Despite the 25 years as a journalist, when the reports first entered, I remember thinking, “That can’t be true.”

The coverage of Axel Rudakuban’s court hearing was terrible – but among traumas we must hear examples of selflessness in a dance studio by police, doctors and firefighters.

They were joined by his hero Joela Verite, who risked his life twice to rush to the studio.

He was not alone in his actions.

We should feel rightly proud of everyone who responded to what was a terrible situation.

Joel, like many others, still carries emotional and mental scars from that day.

He deserves to know that he is also a hero.
