Social media was abuzz with speculation about which players would make the cut, and many fans were are seriously disappointed by the first reports.

Recently, former cricketer Ajit Agarkar, who heads the selection committee, traveled to Sri Lanka to consult with captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid about the latest developments. The lineup was announced at a press conference on September 5.

There are a few surprises in India’s final 15-man squad for the World Cup. But we always expected BCCI to throw a few googlies.

India squad for ICC World Cup 2023

• India will host the Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held from October 5 to November 19, 2023. The home team has finally revealed the players who will represent them in the World Cup. The whole nation eagerly awaited the announcement of the lineup and it did not disappoint.
• The Indian team is currently participating in the 2023 Asia Cup and the World Cup squad is largely the same with a few notable exceptions.
• We have already had several reports on the players who will be included and excluded, along with some accurate predictions from cricket experts.
• According to the latest reports, KL Rahul, who has been struggling with injuries for the past few months, has been cleared to play in the ICC World Cup. He will serve as the primary gatekeeper. Rahul will also play in the Super-4 stage of the Asia Cup after missing the first two matches.
• Fan favorites and IPL stars Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma and Prasidh Krishna are unlikely to make the cut, and that proved to be true. Fans were expecting Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin, but that didn’t happen either.
• Rohit Sharma, who is the captain of the ODI team, will also lead the Indian team in the World Cup, with Hardik Pandya as the vice-captain.

UPDATE: Veteran Ravichandran Ashwin has found his place in the final squad after all-rounder Axar Patel got injured.
