Mick Jones sat down with Loudersound in 2014 to discuss everything from his illustrious career to his personal life. Jones is best known as the lead guitarist, co-vocalist, co-founder and composer of the iconic rock band Foreigner. He composed some of the most popular songs of the late 1970s, but ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ is perhaps his most famous ballad. Jones told Loudersound that while ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ wasn’t directly influenced by any women in his life, he recalled his encounters with many women while creating the songs.
The singer was a female magnet and had a good time on the field as a member of the most popular rock band. Roker, who is a romantic at heart, used to fall in love easily, but he quickly realized that settling down and marriage is not for him.

“After three marriages, I guess I’m done.” I am currently not married. And while I think marriage is a great institution, it doesn’t work when you spend more time with your instrument than with your wife and family,” Jones said.
Mick Jones and Dexter-Jones
Jones’ first marriage is unknown, however, the singer married his second wife, Ann Dexter-Jones, a jewelry designer, in 1985. The couple met when Ann was negotiating a divorce from her first husband, music producer and band manager Laurence Ronson. She immediately thought Jones was the real deal, but was wary of her dangerous legal background.
Ann initially turned Jones down because she didn’t want anything to distract her from her main concern: getting custody of her three children, Mark Ronson, Samantha Ronson and Charlotte Ronson. Jones, on the other hand, didn’t give up and delivered her flowers every day for six months. It was successful and the couple got married in New York. Their second child was born to Alexander and Annabelle Jones. They are also the parents of Christopher, Jones’ son from his first marriage. It is worth mentioning that all their children have achieved great success in different industries.
Mick Jones divorced and remarried.
The couple were happily married for many years until Jones’ “rocker lifestyle” took its toll on their marriage in the early 2000s. Jones had a drinking problem, which eventually led to his divorce from Dexter-Jones in 2007. The jewelry designer said the divorce strained their relationship and they did not speak for a long time. By 2010, Jones had gotten clean and was trying to repair their relationship. There were claims that the couple eventually reconciled, which Page Six confirmed in 2017.
The artist and his wife confirmed their vows after a long break, much to the surprise of their children. Jones expressed his joy at being reunited with his true partner. Perhaps he was not meant to be a nomad, since his home was always with Ann.
