International Yoga Day 2023: Today the world marks 9 years of International Yoga Day. In 2014, the United Nations recognized June 21 as the International Day of Yoga. While the global celebration of IDY 2023 will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA, the national celebration of IDY 2023 will be led by Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar chaired at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

Even while in another part of the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the national celebration of International Yoga Day 2023 via a video message. Some of the key points of his address are:

- “Yoga creates a healthy and strong society in which the collective energy is much greater”

President Droupadi Murmu performed yoga at Rashtrapati Bhawan today to mark the event. She wrote on Twitter: “Yoga is one of the great achievements of our civilization and a great gift from India to the rest of the world. Yoga unites body and mind and is a holistic approach to life.Yoga helps us all to be better positioned to face the growing challenges all around us.. On this day I invite everyone to adopt yoga in their daily lives and experience its transformative power.”

Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, ITBP, BSF and BRO are collaborating to demonstrate the yoga sequence that creates Yoga Bharatmala and Yoga Sagarmala. On the other hand, the Indian coast will host a yoga event this year called Yoga Sagarmala, including the upper deck of INS Vikrant.

Harsh Sangavi, MP from Surat shared the video on Twitter. He wrote, “SURAT Sets a Guinness World Record” At the state level of ‘International Day of Yoga’, Surat set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of people gathered for a yoga session in one location. . More than a million people participated in the event. This remarkable feat is testament to Prime Minister Modi ji’s strong call for #YogaForAll.”
