Her grandmother Kranti Trivedi was a Hindi writer who won many awards and honors. Ira Trivedi published her first book with Penguin at the age of 19. She also runs a non-profit organization, the Namami Yoga Foundation. Through her writing, yoga teaching and not-for-profit work, she earned a spot on the BBC’s 100 Most Influential Women in 2017.

After completing his studies, Trivedi pursued a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wellesley College in Massachusetts from 2002 to 2006.
