I play Nushrratt Bharuccha’s father, who runs a lingerie business. When the role was offered to me, I thought there was some misunderstanding that I looked like her father, but then director Jai Basantu and writer Raaj Shandilya explained the character drawing to me. Casting director Parag also said I was suitable for the role, so I started preparing for the role. ”

Ishtiak performed in several plays with the Anveshan Theater Company in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. After graduating from the National School of Drama, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. In 1989, he joined the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA) theater group in Juhu, Mumbai. Ishtiyak performed his first street drama Gili Gili Fu, directed by Devesh Mishra. His first stage play was Ek Tha Gadha Urf Aladad Khan directed by Satish Sharma.
