In 2017, Ishtiyak starred in two films, “Anaarkali of Aarah” as Hiraman Tiwari and “Fukrey Returns” as Tiddey. In 2018, he played Sunny in the movie “FryDay”. In 2019, he played the role of Chaurasia in the film Bharat, and in 2020, he played the role of Sukumar Sinha in the Netflix film Ludo.

In an interview, when asked about playing the role of a father in the Bollywood film Janhit Mein Jaari, Ishtiyak revealed that he was initially unsure about accepting the role but later he accepted the offer and express:
I play Nushrratt Bharuccha’s father, who runs a lingerie business. When the role was offered to me, I thought there was some misunderstanding that I looked like her father, but then director Jai Basantu and writer Raaj Shandilya explained the character drawing to me. Casting director Parag also said I was suitable for the role, so I started preparing for the role. ”

Ishtiyak Khan made his TV debut in February 2018 with the TV show Har Shaakh Pe Ullu Baithaa Hai, where he played the role of Puttan in the StarPlus show. In 2022, he appeared in The Q’s show Hasi Ka Hahakaar.

Ishtiaq Khan aspired to become an actor from an early age. During his student days, he participated in many theater performances and drama competitions. Ishtiak performed in several plays with the Anveshan Theater Company in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. After graduating from the National School of Drama, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. In 1989, he joined the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA) theater group in Juhu, Mumbai. Ishtiyak performed his first street drama Gili Gili Fu, directed by Devesh Mishra. His first stage play was Ek Tha Gadha Urf Aladad Khan directed by Satish Sharma.
