This beautiful optical illusion conceals two animals. But we can only see one thing.
We’ve seen a lot of weird and wonderful optical illusions here at Creative Bloq, making our minds really dizzy, crumbling, fried, and everything in between.
And we’re scratching our heads again with another puzzling example. Is that a cat or an elk?
The illusion, shared on Twitter this week, features a series of psychedelic-looking curves.
But if you squint, you can see an animal – a moose or a cat, obviously. We see a cat, but no matter which way we look, we don’t see an elk. We just wanted to see a moose.
According to Twitter user Pamela Apostolo, the animal you see depends on whether you are left-brained or right-brained.
It’s unclear which side is calling for the elk, but one thing is for sure – the side of our brain is clearly not needed. Again, is it too much to ask to see an elk? We just want to know what it looks like.
And it looks like we’re not the only ones. The responses are full of users who can see a cat or nothing. “I only saw one cat.
I wish someone sketched an elk,” commented one user, while another added, “I see a cat. As far as I can tell, no one has seen the moose.β Either they were doing something, or the Moose group was keeping quiet.
While we don’t know if the elk was there, it was interesting to see the cat.
Focus your gaze on any particular area of ββthe illusion and the face will disappear. It’s a testament to the power of optical illusions that can make our eyes – and our brains – see something there isn’t much of.
