Ivanka Trump shares children with her husband Jared Kushner
Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are the parents of three children: Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick and Theodore James.
Ivanka, the older daughter of former President Donald Trump, spoke openly about her life in front of a packed house and praised her late mother, Ivanka Trump, and stepmother, Melania Trump, as her parental role models.
Speaking about her late mother, who died in 2022 at the age of 73, Ivanka told PEOPLE, “She was the biggest role model. It was always clear to us that we were her priority, but that doesn’t mean we got her 24 hours a day.”
As for her stepmother, Ivanka said she was a “great inspiration.” She added: “She has done an amazing job providing refuge [Barron] from the chaos that comes with a presidential campaign. Melania is an amazing mother.”
When it comes to balancing work and life with three children, Ivanka found that she needs to “share everything” so she can “figure out ways to connect things,” she told PEOPLE in 2014. In the same interview, Ivanka admitted that leaving her children was difficult when he has other commitments.
While Ivanka and Jared moved their family to Washington DC during her father’s presidency, they have since settled in Surfside, Florida, a small town south of Miami.
“They’re really just getting used to a normal life and really enjoying it,” Jared’s friend told PEOPLE in 2022, adding, “Jared is spending a lot more time with his family because in the last four years, that’s something that neither of them two couldn’t work as much as they wanted.”

Not long after that, Ivanka shared the news on X (then known as Twitter). “This morning [Jared] and welcomed a beautiful and healthy baby girl into the world,” she wrote. “We feel incredibly grateful and blessed. Thank you all for your support and good wishes!”
Over the years, Ivanka has shared insights into her daughter’s personality, including Arabella’s favorite color, dessert and shows. According to a “interview in the center of students’ attention” her mom posted on X in 2017, Arabella hoped to one day be in the Marines, and her favorite holiday was Hanukkah because “I get the presents!”
After her grandfather was elected the 45th President of the United States, Arabella occasionally joined her mother at the White House for official state visits and duties. Ivanka took Arabella on an observation trip to the Supreme Court in February 2017, where they heard oral arguments, according to CNN. The mother-daughter duo posed on the steps of the Supreme Court building before leaving.
“Arabella and I visited the Supreme Court this morning and attended the hearing,” Ivanka captioned the photo on X. “Grateful for the opportunity to teach her first hand about the justice system in our country.”

Recently, in June 2023, Arabella celebrated her bat mitzvah, a Jewish coming-of-age ritual.

Ivanka also spoke openly about how she developed as a mother. “With Arabella, I was so nervous the whole time, I was nervous about breaking her, I was nervous about leaving her, I was nervous about all the basic elements of being a first-time parent,” she recalled.
She continued, “With Joseph I was less nervous materially, and now with Theodore I’m so busy chasing the others that I don’t have time to be nervous!”
Over the years, Ivanka has shared her milestones, like when he started walking. “Big night for baby Theodore. He took his first steps!” she wrote a video on X in May 2017.
In honor of her youngest child’s 4th birthday in 2020, she shared family photos with his dad, grandpa and siblings. Ivanka wrote: “He is joy personified and lights up our home, and envelops our hearts, with his kindness and laughter. ☀️.”
