IVE Is One Of The First Groups To Declare Their Participation In The Next ISAC

According to rumors on July 20, K-pop girl group IVE has entered the lineup for the highly anticipated 2022 Idol Star Athletics Championship (ISAC). IVE is one of the first organizations to confirm its presence at the next ISAC. Other bands rumored to be joining the roster include TREASURE, ONEUS, TXT and Kep1er. Idol Star Athletics Championship, a prominent Korean reality program, debuted in 2010 and quickly became a fan favorite. After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the variety program is returning and will air during the Korean Chuseok festival in September.

TWICE’s Dahyun will host the 2022 Idol Star Athletics Championship, which will begin filming on July 30.

MBC, the network in charge of the program, announced on July 19 that FT Island’s Hongki, Jun Hyun-moo, and TWICE’s Dahyun will return as hosts for the 2022 edition. Jun Hyun-moo hosted the program in 2013, while Dahyun was the MC in 2019. Hongki also previously hosted the esports section. The Idol Star Athletics Championship will be filmed over two days, from July 30 to August 1 KST. It will air during the Chuseok holiday, which this year falls between September 9 and 12.

MBC also stated that idol idols will compete in five disciplines: athletics, shooting, dance sports, futsal and e-sports. Dance sports is a new category added to this year’s Idol Star Athletics Championship. Hongki, Aiki and dance champion Park Ji-Eun will host the event. The event, also known as competitive ballroom dancing, will include waltz, swing, rumba, cha cha and other types of dance. Futsal, which was last at the fair in 2016, is also returning this year.
