Jade Pinkett Smith’s brother is going through a breakup.
On Monday, Caleb Pinkett’s wife, Patricia Pinkett, filed for divorce in Los Angeles, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The couple had been married since 2006 and separated in February 2020, court documents show. Patricia cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Caleeb, an actor and producer who recently worked as a producer on Cobra Kaihe shares an 11-year-old daughter, Caila Koren Pinkett, with Patricia.
Patricia is requesting that the former couple share joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, while also seeking spousal support from Caleb and for the court to terminate its ability to award spousal support to Caleb.

She shared a photo with Jada on her Instagram back in May, when she posted a selfie with her soon-to-be ex-sister-in-law. “Nothing but extreme gratitude for my soul sister @jadapinkettsmith ✨🙏🏽,” she captioned the post. “I love you to infinity and beyond 💜”
Patricia also re-shared a quote from author Idil Ahmed on her Instagram Story on Sunday. The quote read: “A new era of your life begins; one that fills your soul and attracts blessings to you.”

Additionally, Patricia’s latest Instagram post features a photo of herself standing on a moonlit beach and an anonymous quote that reads, “and then the moon told me / dear girl, it’s time to own your fucking power.”
Will Smith’s ex-wife Sheree Zampino, with whom he shares eldest son Trey Smith, also interacted with Patricia on social media in May. “She’s cute!!!” – wrote 55-year-old Sheree in a comment on Patricia’s photo at the music festival.

In February, Caleeb took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with Jaden and Will’s children Jaden Smith, 25, and Willow Smith. “Pinkett genes are strong 💪🏾🤣,” he wrote in the description of the post.
News of Caleb’s impending divorce comes just days after Jada, 52, revealed in an interview with Today show that she and Will (55) have been separated for seven years. Actress and Worthy the author further clarified on Intentionally with Jay Shetty podcast that she and Will, who married in 1996, were “living single life” after their 2016 split.
