We grew up hearing that collectors were a big deal. I didn’t know about the exam at first, but then I gradually learned that there was a civil service exam. Since I come from a middle-class family, I have always had the idea of financial stability. I always felt that if I did nothing, I would be a burden to my parents. So I worked for two years and saved money. Once my job settled down, I started thinking about what interests me. I enjoy meeting and talking to people. The Civil Service is therefore one such platform that will continue to provide opportunities to do so. “

Soon after quitting her job in Bhopal, Jagrati Awasthi moved to Delhi to take up professional coaching. But the emergence of COVID-19 threw a roadblock in her path, and she moved back to Bhopal, India. Jagrati Awasthi didn’t let the pandemic get her down and started taking online classes. In an interview, she explained her preparation strategy:

After the first failure, I first analyzed my shortcomings. Later I discovered that the syllabus was not completed in the first time, there was no practice, and there was no review. The second time, it took me a month to understand the essence of the questions and thoroughly understand the syllabus. Practice questions over and over again and review them. COVID-19 happened during this period, but I remained steadfast. “

She further added,

The second time I tried it, I was scared before the pre-test. I started taking a practice test every day two months before the exam. In this way, I practiced the exam 60 times. So I don’t have any problem. I think people who want to take the UPSC exam should first familiarize themselves with the questions and then practice through mock exams when the preparatory exams are close. “
