James Corden demolishing house to build £8million mega mansion in British market town

JAMES Corden has been given the go-ahead to build his new home in the UK – after a year of waiting for approval.

It follows the star’s return to the country after more than eight years in the US where she hosted The Late Late Show.

Gavin and Stacey favorite James, 45, wants to knock down the £8million 1960s property and replace it with a modern six-bedroom property with an outdoor pool, sauna and steam room.

It faced objections from the local council and English Heritage but has now been given the go-ahead for the works.

A source said: “James and his team have made sure everyone is happy with the plans and he can’t wait to get a proper base for his family.

“It’s been a long road, but the place is going to be amazing when it’s done.”

James intends to move into a home in Henley-on-Thames, Berks, with his wife Julia and their three children as soon as possible.

They had to make a number of planning concessions, including lighting to protect bats, badgers and glow worms.

There is also landscaping to keep the 45 granite megalithic stones on the grounds safe.

James told The Sun he was excited about his return to the UK – calling it “an island that I think is magnificent”.
