“Honestly, I would love nothing more than to be able to work with her again, to share our time again, and now to be able to share it at this age with both of us 20 years older, or whatever we are,” she said.

As for what the next film might look like, Curtis previously said during an appearance on View that she would love to play “an old grandmother who switches bodies” with Lohan.

“So Lindsay becomes a sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon,” she explained. “And it’s just, I’d like to see Lindsay as a hot grandma, and I’d like to see how I try to handle little kids today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world, like an old lady.”

In a joint interview with The New York Times, Lohan confirmed that both she and Curtis are open to the possibility of filming a sequel and said that they are “leaving it in their own hands.”

“We would only make something that people would absolutely love,” she added.

Although it’s been 20 years since the original film debuted, the two maintain a close friendship. After Lohan welcomed her son Luai with husband Bader Shammas in July, Curtis sent the couple a series of children’s books.
