Justin Baldoni is recovering after spending a week in the hospital with an infection.
On Monday, June 10, Jane the Virgin alum shared an update on his health on Instagram after revealing he had been in St. Other than saying why he was admitted, he did not reveal further details about his condition.
“Nothing like an infection and a week in the hospital to put it all into perspective,” the 40-year-old actor began in his Instagram caption. “God is so good. He is recovering and I feel grateful.”
He went on to thank his support system, from the medical staff to his friends and family. “Thank you to the amazing team of doctors and nurses at St. John’s. Your dedication and compassion were outstanding. To the friends and family who knew I was here—thank you for your prayers, visits, and cheering me up.”

He ended the post by thanking his wife of 10 years, Emily. “And to my wife, my soulmate – who is so stubborn that she didn’t want to leave me and slept on the bench… I love fucking you. Forever.”

The first photo he shared was of his two children lying in a hospital bed with him as they all hugged each other lovingly.

He also posted a photo with his IV as he, Maxwell and Maiya walked together around the health facility.

Baldoni recently spoke with PEOPLE about his upcoming film, It ends with us, and how “healing” the five-year project was for him.
She stars alongside Blake Lively in the 2016 adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book, which follows Lily Bloom (Lively), a self-starter in Boston who begins a volatile relationship with a charismatic neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni).
“I had to dig out a lot of things and found parts of myself that I didn’t know existed,” he exclusively shared with PEOPLE. “In a way, playing Ryle was very healing for me as Justin. There were parts of me as Justin that I thought I might have worked on and healed, and I realized I hadn’t.”
