Jannat Hussain was born in 1951. He was 73 years old when he died. He was born in Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh. He lived in Sullurupeta, Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh.

He came into limelight when Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy signed the first document on free electricity for farmers after an oath-taking ceremony held at the LB Stadium in 2004.

Jannat was appointed as Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Later, Jannat was nominated as the Chief Information Commissioner of United AP in 2010.
