Jason Kelce only announced his retirement from pro football a week ago, but as one friend jokes, he’s already found a side gig!
While trying to drive to a sports card and memorabilia show in Philadelphia on Saturday, Kelce’s former teammate Beau Allen shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he ended up calling the only guy he knew was single.
“I needed a ride to @Philly_Showluckily, this unemployed bum was able to take me #uber driver“, wrote Alen, who played for Kelce from 2014-2017.
Allen’s caption was paired with a selfie of the duo sitting in a car together — with Allen, 32, in the passenger seat while Kelce, 36, grinned behind the wheel in a work jacket.

On Instagram a few days earlier, Allen congratulated his friend on his retirement with a carousel captioned “Bout f—– time” and an additional highlight reel calling Kelce “an incredible leader, an incredible competitor and a phenomenal friend.”
“Congratulations to my good friend @jason.kelce on a legendary career,” he wrote. “… “It is truly a privilege to share so much time with you on and off the field. I love you bro.”
Kelce, who was selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, announced his retirement in an emotional press conference on March 4, where he thanked his teammates for helping him along the way.
“There are so many teammates, coaches, support staff, coaches, equipment, cafeteria workers, you have no idea the amount of people in this building it takes to help our players and myself,” he said. “I’d like to thank you all by name, but we’d be here too long for anyone to keep listening.”

During his speech, Kelce fought back tears and mentioned several key members of his support system, including wife Kylie, mother Donna, father Ed and brother Travis. He shares daughters Wyatt (4), Elliott (3) and Bennett (12 months) with Kylie.
“Every recognition I’ve ever received came with her in my life,” he said of his wife. “She brought out the best in me through love, loyalty, support, honesty, intelligence, and of course, a quick kick in the ass from time to time. She also gave me three beautiful girls and a life that increasingly brings me more fulfillment off the field than on it. him. We’ve had a great streak, Ky.”
After announcing his retirement, Kelce was honored by fans and friends after 13 years in the league.
Kelce even got to see some hometown love from Cleveland, Ohio on March 5 when the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers gave him a minute and a half video tribute, complete with a standing ovation and a framed Cavs jersey with his name and jersey number. 62 on him, all the while attending the game with younger brother Travis.
