Jason Momoa sings the praises of Barbra Streisand.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actor (45) says that he likes to listen to the star’s music, especially during the holiday season.
“Every year, Christmas doesn’t start until Barbra sings it,” Momoa — who recently teamed up with Monopoly Go! — he says. “I’m a big fan.”
“My mom was playing me Barbra Streisand, her Christmas album, so I put it on repeat,” he adds, referring to Streisand’s 1967 album. Christmas album. “It’s our choice, me and my mom.”

Stating that he’s excited for the upcoming holiday season, Momoa says he especially likes the holiday food served.
“For me, it’s pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie,” she says of some favorites. “So that’s the first thing that happens on Thanksgiving.”

As for Christmas, Momoa explains that he likes to go outside and enjoy the cold weather.
“I’m pretty excited to play in the snow,” he says. “I’ll throw snowballs, go snowboarding.”

Momoa says he’s a big fan of snow even though he was born in a warmer, more tropical climate.
“I was born in Hawaii and grew up in Iowa, so I think if I was only in Hawaii, I wouldn’t have experienced this [feeling]”, he says.
“Gotta have snow, man,” Momoa continues, adding that he plans to spend the winter holidays this year with his two children: son Nakoa-Wolf and his daughter Lola – both of whom he shares with ex-wife Lisa Bonet.
“I’m going to take my mom to Montana and my babies and some of their friends. We’re going to go snowmobiling,” the father of two tells PEOPLE. “My son has learned it pretty well, so I’ll be teaching my daughter some more.”
