Jason Tartick saw his ex-fiancΓ©e Kaitlyn Bristowe for the first time since they broke off their engagement in August.
In his episode on Monday Trade secrets podcast, the Bachelor The alum, 35, revealed he and Bristowe, 38, had reunited at Chris Harrison and Lauren Zima’s wedding earlier this month.
“I would describe that there was a lot of energy that we both carried, and maybe it wasn’t the best energy,” he said about their reconciliation at the party. “And when we met, [I] I didn’t know what to expect, but it was great. It was friendly, warm, respectful.”

Tartick revealed that he “hadn’t seen her once” before the wedding weekend. “The last time I saw her was when I moved out,” he added, before noting that their re-introduction had an audience that included Wells Adams.
“Everybody’s, like, kind of f—ing with us,” he joked. βAnd I just start laughing. Kaitlyn says, ‘What are you laughing at [at]?’ I’m like, ‘Peanut Gallery.’β
“The time spent has created what feels like a much healthier, strictly friendship experience,” the reality star said, adding that his breakup with Bristowe was “a lot different” compared to others. “We’ll see where it goes next, I don’t know.”

Bristowe and Tartick first met in 2018 during her shoot Off the Vine podcast and began dating in early 2019. In an interview with PEOPLE, she said the couple had formed a lasting relationship.
“[It] definitely not something I expected,” Bristowe said of Tartick in 2019. “When I met him, dating anyone wasn’t even on my radar, especially anyone in the Bachelor world, but something in the back of my mind was rooting for him. And I thought: ‘Whoever goes out with him is lucky.'”
The former couple announced in May 2019 that they were moving in together, and later got engaged in May 2021 after two years of dating.

In August 2023, the two Bachelor Nation stars ended their engagement with a statement shared on their Instagram accounts.
“After first sharing the news with family and close friends and taking time to process it ourselves, it is with a heavy heart that we have to share that we have decided to end our engagement,” they wrote in the post, which included a photo of the couple cuddling up together.
“We are grateful to all of you who gave us the time and space to make this decision that changed our lives because it is necessary to overcome many emotions and changes”, they continued,

They concluded the message by looking back on the time they spent together.
“We are extremely grateful for the memories we shared and for your support of us and the boys throughout the years. Moving forward, we will always have that level of support for each other. We don’t know what the future holds so please try to save room for us in your hearts,” they concluded, captioning the post, “Kaitlyn and Jason.”
