Jason Tartick Says He's Had a 'Tough Week' Since Split from Kat Stickler: 'Breakups Suck'

Jason Tartick shares updates after breaking up with Kat Stickler.

Bachelor alum, 35, admitted on his podcast Trade secrets that “last week was tough” after announcing his split from Stickler, 29, on Oct. 12.

“I mean, there’s just no way to go around,” he said. “Difficult week. Breakups are bullshit. If you’re in a situation where you don’t feel good, just know that it’s OK.”

After the break, Tartick had a speaking engagement, which he said “lasted.” Luckily, the TV personality noted that the speech went well, explaining: “Strangely enough … I felt like it was one of the better speeches I’ve ever given, and that was what I was dreading the most. I didn’t feel like I was lacking space for that.”

Tartick — who was previously engaged to Kaitlyn Bristowe before calling it quits in August 2023 — also shared some advice for getting over heartbreak.

“But if anybody’s not feeling well right now, I guess some productive ideas, some that have helped me, are really leaning,” he told his listeners. “I think you rely on the people who are most important to you, mom, dad, for me, brother too, best friends.”

Tartick shared the importance of self-care during difficult times, saying, “Some other things I’ve been doing is meditation. I stepped away from it for a while, but this week I really sat down, avoiding distractions. Small things like focusing on hydration, sauna. I’ve been reading instead of watching TV and I’ve even focused on nutrition and all those little things, those little baby steps can really help you re-ground and center yourself.”

Tartick’s news comes more than a week after he and Stickler announced on social media that they had decided to go their separate ways. The reality star shared a statement confirming the split, saying he and Stickler, 29, parted ways “amicably” and that he was “rooting for her happiness” as they both move forward.

“I’m sorry to say that Kat and I are no longer together,” he wrote. “It’s fair to say that I love very much with all my heart and I fall fast. Sometimes in life it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. This time it didn’t.”

Stickler also addressed the split in her Instagram video. She also called the breakup “amicable” and noted, “I just wanted to tell you that it’s not love wasted. I feel like sometimes it’s so easy to think that love is wasted when a relationship ends. But love is never wasted. So, that’s all I have to say.”
