Veteran TV actress Jean Allison has died. She was 94 years old.
Allison’s death was confirmed by her family in an obituary. According to the monument, the performer, who was known for his roles in shows like Bonanza, Gun smoke, Perry Mason and other series, died on February 28 in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
Allison has built an impressive resume during her career as a character actress. She has appeared in episodes of an extensive list of popular series such as Charlie’s Angels, Detectives, urgently!, Hawaiian eye, Starsky & Hutch, The Waltons and many others, according to her IMDb page.

The star was born on October 24, 1929 and grew up in Tarrytown, New York. She eventually attended Adelphi College on Long Island and later studied acting with Sanford Meisner.
She was scouted by an agent for the first time while appearing in a stage performance of a drama Teach me how to cry and made her screen debut in an episode of the CBS anthology General Electric Theatre in 1957.

Allison also appeared in a handful of film roles. Her film debut took place in 1958 in a thriller The edge of rage, in which she starred opposite Michael Higgins. Other roles included Devil’s partner (1960), Steagle (1971), Bad Company (1972) i Hardcore (1979).
Her career spanned more than three decades, while she landed character roles until the mid-80s in series such as Highway to heaven, Simon & Simon, and St. Elsewhere.

Allison was married three times, including to fellow actor/director Lee Philips, boxing trainer Jerry Boyd (who wrote the story adapted into a 2004 screenplay). A million dollar baby) and Phil Toorvald, with whom she raised three children.
After the deaths of their spouses, she also formed a relationship with longtime cinematographer Jack Couffer, whom she first met on set The edge of rage 50 years ago. The two remained friends until his death in 2021.
She is survived by three children, Erin, Sven and Tina.
