Jeannie Mai Asks Judge Not to Enforce Prenup with Ex Jeezy, Citing ‘Concerns’ She Didn’t Have Time to Review

Jeannie Mai Jenkins has asked a judge not to enforce her prenuptial agreement with her estranged husband Jeezy as the couple continues to go back and forth in their acrimonious divorce.

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Really the alum claims she was not given enough time to review the documents before signing. It claims the rapper (born Jay Wayne Jenkins) began negotiating an agreement just five days before their 2021 wedding.

Mai, 45, says the “abbreviated negotiating window” has raised “significant concerns about the adequacy and thoroughness of the due diligence process and the ‘full and fair disclosure’ of each side about their financial positions,” according to the documents.

The filing also said the “abbreviated timeline” made it “inherently challenging, if not impossible” for both parties to “engage in comprehensive due diligence.”

Mai also claims that Jeezy failed to provide “comprehensive supporting financial documents” that provided a “transparent and detailed account” of his “assets, liabilities and overall financial condition.”

Mai “respectfully requested” that the judge deny her estranged husband’s motion to enforce their prenup or delay until her team “thoroughly completes” their discovery.

PEOPLE has reached out to Ma’s rep for comment.

This is not the first time How I look alum filed a motion with the judge regarding their prenuptial agreement.

After Jeezy filed for divorce in September 2023 after two years of marriage, Mai asked the court to enforce the terms of their infidelity prenup in December. She claimed that her ex-husband was unfaithful during the marriage.

After stating that she “has the right to divorce her husband on the grounds that the marriage has irretrievably broken down” and that she “does not want to go into specifics at this time in the hope that this matter can be resolved without having to publicly disclose such conduct,” the television host seemingly claimed that cheating may have been a factor in their split.

In the documents obtained by PEOPLE, the section stated that “any party” who “engages in a sexual relationship, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party through all forms of electronic communication, including but not limited to , texting, sexting, Facetiming, social media and/or direct messaging, will result in a significant fine for the adulterous party as stated in said Prenuptial Agreement.”

At the time, Jeezy’s rep denied her allegations, telling PEOPLE, “Any allegation of infidelity on behalf of Mr. Jenkins is 100% false and he has no further statements to make at this time.”

Maia’s request came in response to the artist’s own request that a judge set “clearly defined” temporary legal and physical custody rights over his and Maia’s daughter Monaco. He said both sides “agreed on a schedule of visits until the end of 2023.” However, the situation became “less and less feasible” over time.
