Jeannie Mai Jenkins is hoping to save her relationship with husband Jeezy after he filed for divorce earlier this month.

A source told PEOPLE Really host, 44, is “hurt and devastated” by the rapper’s decision to end their marriage.

Another source reveals that issues between the pair have recently escalated, sharing, “They’ve had issues for a long time, but things have gotten really difficult in the last few months.”

“He spends almost all of his time in Atlanta, and she’s been flying back and forth from there to LA,” the insider explains. “She was cutting back a little bit and trying to spend more time in Atlanta to work on their issues.”

The source added: “She obviously knew they were having problems, but she didn’t expect a divorce. Now she is trying to figure out what her future looks like and where she will live.”

In her filing, the Grammy-nominated star said the former couple – who had a prenuptial agreement – “currently live in a bona fide state of separation” and that their marriage is “irretrievably destroyed” with “no hope of reconciliation.” .”

The document also states that Jeezy (née Jay Jenkins) wants to share joint legal custody of the couple’s daughter, Monaco. (He is also the father of two children from previous relationships.)

Jenkins and Jeezy married in March 2021 at their Atlanta home and welcomed their daughter in January 2022.

The couple celebrated their two-year anniversary in March with a surprise trip to Vietnam that Jenkins organized for her husband as a “long-awaited adventure”.
