Jenna Bush Hager Looks Back at Summer with Her Three Kids as Family Says Goodbye to the Season

Jenna Bush Hager says goodbye to summer.

In photos she shared on her Instagram Story over Labor Day weekend, Today with Hoda and Jenna co-host, 41, said goodbye to some of her favorite parts of summer, from s’mores to pool days.

In one photo, the mom-of-three posed with her husband Henry Hager, son Hal, 4, and daughters Poppy, 8, and Mila, 10, as they all sat at an outdoor table eating ice cream.

Jenna Bush Hager’s daughters pose all over Paris in fun family travel photos

Last month, Bush Hager was considering welcoming her third child as son Hal turned 4.

“I FaceTimed him this morning and I said, ‘Hal, do you know that in one hour four years ago you cut my stomach open?’ ” she told co-host Hoda Kotb.

“And he says, ‘Cut out of your belly?’ ” she continued, making a face to mimic the little guy’s disgust.

She also paid tribute to her baby boy on her Instagram Story, writing: “Happiest 4th birthday to our dearest. I love being face to face with you my love.”

In July, the mom of three shared some sage parenting advice she’s been given. “Someone gave me this advice when my kids were — and they’re still — but when Mila was young, it was, ‘Listen to all that stuff,'” she recalled.

“Sometimes you don’t want to because they’re endless. But now Mila writes me these letters from camp that have every detail. And other people say, ‘All I’ve heard is that it was fun,'” she said of her eldest.

“I hear every. Single. Thing,” she continued. “And then she wrote Poppy this letter that made Henry and I cry, and it was like, ‘You’re going to be homesick. You’re going to be homesick, but the difference is I got you.’ ”

Mila’s letter to Poppy continued: “I’ve got you. I’m here for you. I’ll be there for you next year, and you can come to my cabin and I’ve got you.”

While speaking with PEOPLE for a cover story last month, Kotb revealed that she has the utmost respect for her co-host, especially for her ability to fearlessly share intimate details about her life.

“When I watched her throw those bombs on the table, I thought, ‘Girl, what are you doing?'” Bush Hager’s Kotb recalled. “But she is shameless. People spend their whole lives trying to get there, and she is exactly what she is.”

As for the mom of three, she told PEOPLE that she doesn’t think about those things much.

“Actually, I try not to put too much pressure on myself to be perfect, because I’m nowhere near that. I find perfection terribly boring,” she said.
