“Rome wanted to slick his hair like dad 🥹😭,” Johnson wrote above the picture.

In the photo, Roma can be seen hanging out in a colorful animal-themed sweater with her slicked back locks as she gazes into the distance with wide eyes and chubby cheeks.

Johnson and Chmerkovskiy, who married in 2019, welcomed Roma, their first baby together, on January 10.

Back in July, the new mom opened up about navigating their different parenting styles when asked in an Instagram Q&A if she and Chmerkovskiy have “different belief systems” and how they deal with it.

“Yes!!! Being completely transparent, it was very hard to navigate at first because we grew up completely different and in very different cultures,” Johnson said.

“I think we’ve had to face the fact that we need to constantly have open and honest communication so that neither of us is offended or hurt by the other if we disagree on something. But!!! Now one of my favorite aspects of our relationship, that we are able to experience such a cultural life together and learn about each other’s upbringing,” she continued.

Johnson then explained that Rome “will have such a unique experience growing up with Russian-speaking grandparents in New York and Christian grandparents in Utah!”

“Life is beautiful when you can experience it all. My biggest advice to anyone in a similar position… don’t shy away from it! Face it head on and have the tough conversations!! They are worth it!!” she concluded.

Speaking to PEOPLE in May, Chmerkovskiy said fatherhood was “the best ending I’ve ever been in” because “it’s been a lot of fun.”

“Obviously the biggest responsibility I’ve ever felt. It’s just really fulfilling,” he said at the time. “I love seeing him smile and grow and really seeing my wife become a mom. It’s all been really, really fruitful for us.”

When asked if their outlook on life itself has changed since becoming parents, Johnson told PEOPLE, “Just the word ‘present’ or being present has really changed.”

“I feel like I’m much more successful during the day when I have a child, and that’s because I want to spend as much time as possible with them,” she explained. “And so I feel like I’m really present. I’m really focused, but I work a lot more because I want to just spend every waking second with him.”
