Jennifer Hudson wishes her late brother Jason Hudson a happy birthday.
The daytime talk show host, 42, remembered Jason on his 45th birthday with nostalgia publish on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In the post, she shared two photos of Jason. One picture showed him smiling at the camera while wearing a black T-shirt and a black leather jacket. Another showed him wearing a “Detroit” jacket and eating.
“My brother Jason would have turned 45 today!” Jennifer wrote. “He’s always been the biggest basketball fan so #NBA All-Star weekend became my birthday celebration for him! Happy Heavenly Birthday, Jason!!”

Jennifer Hudson is playing in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game ‘in honor’ of her late brother
The announcement comes after Jennifer revealed Show Jennifer Hudson at the end of January that he will play in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in honor of his brother.
Jason was killed along with her mother Darnell Donerson and 7-year-old nephew Julian King in October 2008 in the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. Jennifer’s former brother-in-law, William Balfour, was convicted of the murders and is currently serving a life sentence.
“His birthday was February 17th, and he was a huge basketball fan,” Jennifer said of Jason. “That makes me a big fan of basketball and in his honor I always try to celebrate his birthday that way.”

She then announced that she was “invited to play on the NBA All-Star basketball team” and would work hard to make her brother and son, David Daniel, 14, proud.
“You see I’m tall enough, right? I’ve been under my kid, going to practice and everything,” Jennifer said. “I’m calling everyone because I have to make my son proud” because I can’t go out and I don’t know what I’m doing.”

She added that she took the game very seriously and even called professional basketball coach and former player Derek Fisher for some advice. She also showed an early jump in training with NBA shooting coach Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews.
“Overall, I can’t be ashamed of these kids and I want to make my brother proud on his heavenly birthday,” Jennifer said. “And after I become an MVP-certified celebrity MVP, I’ll come back and tell you all about it.”
