Jennifer Tilly Jokes Joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Is 'Scarier than Chucky'

As an actress, Jennifer Tilly has spent decades battling the vicious serial killer doll Chucky in the Child’s play franchise. But that’s nothing compared to facing a reality star.

The Oscar nominee made headlines back in May when it was revealed she was joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a friend.

And during the performance at It happened in Hollywood podcast released on Tuesday, July 2, the actress and professional poker player opened up about her Real Housewives experience, teasing that it comes with its own horrors.

“Oh my god, that’s crazy. “That’s, like, scarier than Chucky. I’ll tell you that,” said Tilly, 65, who recently starred in the film Chucky series on Syfy and USA Network.

“I’m not a housewife. I’m a friend, though, which is much easier,” she added. “You just dive in and come out. You’re trying to avoid, like, flying shrapnel. And you know, if a drink gets thrown, I’ve got good reflexes.”

Tilly discussed her acting It happened in Hollywood with friend Gina Gershon. The podcast episode reunited Tied Costars to discuss their time working on the 1996 thriller.

But at the end of their conversation, Gershon, 62, asked Fr RHOBHrevealing that she once considered a Bravo franchise.

– They approached me – she admitted. – I was too scared.

Tilly continued to encourage her friend to put on a show, saying, “Holy cow. Honey, you’d be great.” But it was Gershon who encouraged Tilly.

“You know what? You’re going to be a genius at it,” she said. “You’re going to take over that whole set, Jen. I have no doubt. In fact, I’d even watch it with you!”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14: Bozoma ‘Boz’ Saint John Joins The Cast Along With ‘Friend’ Jennifer Tilly!

RHOBH viewers have already seen Tilly in the series, during a guest appearance alongside her friend Sutton Stracke.

But for Season 14, which is currently filming, she’ll be a bigger part of the action alongside Stracke and returning housemates Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley and Garcelle Beauvais.

The women will be joined by new housewife Bozoma “Boz” Saint John. And Kathy Hilton, sister of Kyle (and former Housewife Kim Richards), will also return as a friend.

Their casting comes on the heels of news that Crystal Kung Minkoff and Annemarie Wiley will both be leaving the show. Kung Minkoff is leaving after three seasons, while Wiley is leaving after just one season.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills can be streamed on Peacock.
