Annemarie Wilcox, a twelve-year-old struggling with the pitfalls of high school, is the protagonist of the story. During the summer holidays, Han later worked on a coming-of-age romance trilogy for young adults.
From 2009 to 2011, she worked on three novels published by Simon & Schuster: The Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You, and We’ll Always Have Summer. Furthermore, the trilogy was a New York Times bestseller.
She later published her second trilogy for young adults, co-written with Siobhan Vivian. It appeared in the 2012 issue of Burn for Burn. The story revolves around three high school girls seeking revenge in their island village, and includes paranormal and romantic elements.
Additionally, in 2014, she published To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, a romance novel for young adults. Lara Jean Song Covey is a high school student whose life is turned upside down when the letters she wrote to her five previous crushes are sent without her knowledge.
Furthermore, the book was optioned for a film adaptation a few weeks after its publication. A film adaptation of the novel, starring actress Lana Condor, began filming in July 2017 and was released by Netflix in August 2018, to rave reviews.

A television series inspired by her novel series The Summer, I Turned Pretty was recently released on the OTP platform, Amazon Prime, in June 2022.
