Jessa Duggar Shares Baby Boy’s Name as His Siblings Meet Him for the First Time: ‘The Sweetest Thing’

Jessa (Duggar) Seewald officially introduces her baby to the world.

On Sunday, the former Count on star — who just welcomed her fifth child with husband Ben Seewald — posted a YouTube video revealing her son’s name, George Augustine. The video also documented the adorable moment her four children learned the gender and name of their newest sibling.

“During the entire pregnancy, Ben and I kept the gender of the baby a secret, so today the children will come to the hospital and meet their little brother and sister for the first time and find out the gender of the baby,” Jessa, 30, explained at the beginning of the recording.

When her daughters Ivy, 4, and Fern, 2, and sons Henry, 6, and Spurgeon, 9, arrived and gathered around Mom’s hospital bed, they learned they had a new brother.

– They all hoped for a boy! Jessa revealed in the text caption above the clip.

Fern then excitedly climbed into bed next to her mom, hoping to be the first to hold George. The child beamed as Jessa placed the tiny, swaddled baby in her arms.

“Just when you think as a parent your heart can’t be full anymore, you see your older children loving a newborn baby, and your heart just overflows with emotion,” Jessa said in a voiceover. – That is the sweetest thing to witness.

In the video, she also shared that she and Ben (28) haven’t decided on a name yet, but that they have a “main candidate”.

“We’re thinking about calling him George,” Ben said in the clip, prompting his mother – who was with the family at the hospital – to exclaim: “Oh, I was just about to read to the kids Saint George and the dragon. [It’s all about] bravery and courage.”

Later in the video, Jessa spends some time staring at her baby to see if George feels like the right fit. “Sometimes I just like to look at them, study them and see if the name fits,” she explained.

“Right now we’re leaning towards Augustine for a middle name. I think that sounds like a really good, strong name. George Augustine. I think the name fits,” she continued as the camera zoomed in on her baby’s face.

The video also captured shots of Jesse and Ben bringing George home from the hospital, as well as all the sweet family bonding that followed.

Fern in particular seemed totally in love with her new brother, blowing lots of kisses on his head as she cuddled up next to him on the couch.

“We’re just going to be here soaking up the baby cuddles,” Jessa captioned the end of the video.

With an epidural that “worked great on one side” but was “kind of spotty on the other side,” George was in the “posterior” position during labor. Jessa said she ended up calling her midwife, who came to the hospital and helped her “get into a bunch of different birth positions to help rotate the baby.”

After 21 hours of labor, George finally arrived. Both Jessa and her husband were overcome with emotion when they saw their son for the first time.

“The sweetest moment [was] when they lifted the baby and put it on me. Holding him there, I think there was so much emotion in that moment [and] so many things you process. It’s been a year since we lost our last child and just a flood of emotions,” Jessa said, referring to her miscarriage in 2022.
