Jesse was born on March 29, 1982 to William and Julie (Roth) Freiburger. He graduated from Bellevue State High School in 2000, earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Loras College, a master’s degree in sports administration from American Public University and earned an administrative endorsement from Morningside University.
During his 18-year tenure with the Dubuque Community School District, Jesse made a significant impact on the lives of students. He began as a physical education teacher at Sageville Elementary School and later worked as a student aid aide at Roosevelt Middle School before pursuing his dream of becoming the principal of Marshall Elementary School.
Jesse loved sports, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers and Iowa Hawkeyes, and loved spending time with his loved ones. His wife and high school sweetheart, Heather, and their three children, Landen, Hayden and Mason, were his pride and joy. Known for his contagious smile, Jesse had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel valued and important.
He will be greatly missed by those lucky enough to have known and loved Jesse. His wife Heather, children, parents, siblings and extended family are among those who will cherish his memory.
