Jillian Michaels Says She and Wife DeShanna Don't Need 2-Week Marriage Rule Other Celeb Couples Follow (Exclusive)

Fitness guru Jillian Michaels and wife DeShanna Marie Minuto are still in wedded bliss.

The couple, who first tied the knot in a small ceremony in 2022 before celebrating their nuptials again the following year in Venice, Italy, rarely spend time apart, Michaels tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“We’re together the whole fucking time, so we don’t have that problem,” says the Keeping it real podcast host, 50, when asked if she and Minuto have to carve out time in their busy lives to see each other like so many other celebrity couples.

The star jokes: “We should probably try to get away from each other every two weeks. It would probably be better!”

Michaels spoke with PEOPLE to mark the two-year anniversary of her spinal injury from a slip and fall (she’s since “made a full recovery”) and adds that she and Minuto spend so much time with each other because they also work together.

“He has to go with me everywhere. I’m not really that weird and needy, but she works for my companies,” Michaels explains with a laugh.

Minuto, who Michaels calls “an artist,” uses her talents as a “creative director for modern companies, whether she’s designing my line for iTouch Wearables or working on a new label for a company I work with called Alaya Naturals or redesigning the website for The Fitness App ” says Michaels.

In other words, Michaels is always up to something, and Minuto is there to help provide a creative vision every step of the way.

“When we’re working, we’re working in other rooms in the house, but we’re actually living with COVID all the time because we’re together all the time,” Michaels admits.

“I can’t tell if one day they’ll look back and say, ‘It was so scary when Mom didn’t walk for six months,’ or if it just never bothered them and they thought it was going to be fine,” she recalls.

Because Michaels was unable to be mobile during her initial recovery, she was unable to perform many regular tasks, including reaching up to her toes.
