Jimmie Allen’s Former Manager Speaks Out After Dropping Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Singer

Jimmie Allen’s former manager has spoken out for the first time since dropping the sexual assault lawsuit she filed against him.

Days after the country music star and his former manager, 38, agreed Thursday to move the lawsuit forward, her attorneys at FeganScott confirmed to PEOPLE that she filed a revised stipulation agreement to finalize Monday’s decision to drop her claims.

Elizabeth Fegan, an attorney for the plaintiffs (referred to as Jane Doe), also shared a statement about the decision with PEOPLE. She said, “Jane Doe entered into a plea agreement with Jimmie Allen to avoid the trauma of reliving her abuse during a painful trial.”

The attorney explained that Allen offered to pay a financial settlement in exchange for not taking the case to trial, which FeganScott “agreed to save my client the emotional trauma of reliving her experience.”

“The lawsuit against Allen was never about financial gain for my client, it was about holding Allen accountable,” Fegan continued. “Unfortunately, civil litigation has several ways of punishing an offender; we wouldn’t be able to ask the court to imprison him, for example, or force him to change his behavior. One of the few remedies we have in civil litigation is to ask the court to award monetary damages , which we did.”

“Although Allen and my client reached an agreement before trial, the motivation remained true – to hold Allen accountable, which we succeeded in doing,” she added.

Fegan also noted that “both sides have agreed to the confidentiality of the case,” which Allen “allegedly violated” by “implying that Jane Doe withdrew her allegations and dropped the litigation.” She said: “These reported claims by Allen are absolutely false – my client stands by her statements in the complaint, that Allen raped her while she was incapacitated and sexually assaulted her while she was his day-to-day manager.”

The statement concluded by reiterating that FeganScott is still pursuing the second sexual assault case filed against Allen and that Jane Doe continues to pursue her case against others named in the original filing, including her former employer “Williams Bowers Management, which operates as Wide Open Music.”

Allen also gave PEOPLE a statement on Monday about dropping the case. “Because of these false accusations, the past eight months have been the hardest in my life, but it has shown me how much love I have from my friends and family,” the singer-songwriter wrote.

“[Jane Doe’s] not-[factual] the story has the story has affected my kids’ lives and I’m not disappointed in that,” said Allen, who has three children with his wife, Alexis Gale. “I can take all the punches, but when they start affecting my kids, they’re in serious trouble.”

The musician noted that he plans to address the allegations “within the next week” and concluded his statement by adding, “Bless you.”

In the lawsuit, which was filed in May 2023 and obtained by PEOPLE, the former manager cited several instances in which the country star allegedly forced himself on her and abused her.

Jane Doe accused the Grammy-nominated artist of raping her during a March 2021 work trip to film an episode American Idol and assaulted her on another occasion while they were traveling together when he appeared in the episode The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The lawsuit alleged that the behavior occurred under the supervision of Allen’s management team, who the plaintiff claimed was aware of the CMA Award winner’s behavior but placed her under his direction anyway.

At the time of the initial filing and thereafter, Allen denied the allegations and maintained that their relationship was consensual.

An additional lawsuit against the “Best Shot” singer was filed in June 2023, alleging that he filmed their sexual relationship without her consent.

Fegan also told PEOPLE in a statement at the time that she had heard from other women accusing Allen of assault.
