Jitendra Awadh was an Indian politician. He is a member of the Kuomintang Congress Party. He served as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for three consecutive terms in 2009, 2014 and 2019. He became the Minister for Minority Development and Okaf in March 2022.

Jitendra Satish Awhad was born on Monday, 5 August 1963, in Nashik, Maharashtra (60 years old as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Leo. He completed his education at St. John the Baptist High School in Tarn. According to some sources, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bombay University (later renamed Bombay University) in 1986, but others claim that he graduated from Bombay University with a major in Marine Engineering Studies. He also served as Assistant Labor Officer at Kores India Limited, Thane from 1988 to 1995. In 1996, he became the president of the Maharashtra State Youth Congress.

Jitendra Awad was appointed as the first national president of the National Youth Congress in 1999. He was elected to the Legislative Council twice, in 2002 and 2008. In October 2009, he participated in the first Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. Elections from Mumbra-Kalwa (Sein) constituency are offered by the National Congress Party (NCP). He won the election by 15,689 votes. In 2014, he was re-elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly for the Mumbra-Kalwa (Thane) constituency and served as the Minister of Medical Education, Horticulture and Employment Security. He appointed famous Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan as the brand ambassador for horticulture promotion in Maharashtra. After NCP chairman Sharad Pawar resigned from his post in May 2023, Jitendra Awhad also resigned from the post of national general secretary.He said in an interview
We have been staunch followers of Sharad Pawar for decades. Pawar has been saying that people’s mandate is very important in a democracy. Pawar unilaterally resigned from the party without consulting senior party leaders. In my opinion, Pawar’s decision goes against his own principles. An assault case was filed against civil engineer Anant Karmuse, who abducted and assaulted Jitendra Awhad on the night of April 5, 2020, for posting morphed photos of him on social media. He mentioned in his statement that he was kidnapped by some policemen and taken to his home in Awadh, where the police and Awadh’s bodyguards attacked him; he even posted photos of marks on his back on social media. Jitendra Awhad was arrested on assault charges but was later released on bail. The fourth charge sheet in the case was filed in May 2023.

In November 2022, two cases were filed against Jitendra Awhad. A molestation case was filed against BJP leader Rida Rashid; she said she was pushed by Jitendra during an inauguration ceremony.Speaking about the incident in an interview, she said
In Mumbra a bridge was inaugurated and everyone was invited. I requested the Chief Minister’s Personal Assistant to allow me to meet the Chief Minister. There was a huge crowd around the CM and I was near his car. I saw MLA Jitendra Awhad. When I tried to go to the chief minister, Awad pushed me aside and said, what are you doing here? He pushed me and I fell into the crowd and all the men were surrounded… I showed the video to the police. An FIR has been registered against him. ”
In November last year, two days before the sexual harassment case, he was booked for disrupting a night screening of the film “Har Har Mahadev” at a theater in Thane. Awahad said the case against him was false and he was willing to resign as MLA.He tweeted
The police registered 2 false cases against me within 72 hours. I will fight against police brutality. I have decided to resign as a provincial councilor. We cannot witness the murder of our democracy. ”
Reviews of the movie “Kerala Stories”
A case of non-cognizable offense was registered against Jitendra for his remarks made by an activist on the controversial film “Kerala Story” at Vatak Nagar police station. Jitendra told a news channel that the incident shown in the video was fake. Jitendra allegedly said the film’s producers should be hanged in public for insulting women in Kerala.
Sindh Community Review
On May 27, 2023, Jitendra made objectionable comments to the Sindhi community at a gathering in Ulhas Nagar. A video went viral on social media in which he said:
Ek Sher ko maran ke liye sau Sindhi kutte bhi aa gaye to kuch bhi nahi karanat. ”
The FIR was filed under Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race etc.), 153B, 295A (deliberately and maliciously offending religious sentiments of any class of citizens) and 298 (deliberately causing harm to religious person) submitted. Comments on Lord Ram
In January 2024, Jitendra Awhad sparked controversy with his remarks against Lord Ram at an event in Shirdi, Maharashtra. He claimed that Lord Ram lived in the forest for 14 years and was not a vegetarian. Jitendra Awhad said at the event,
