Melissa Rivers gets candid about her late mother Joan, who died suddenly nearly ten years ago.

“She wouldn’t agree to sports leisure and people wearing sweatpants everywhere,” says Melissa, 55. “She’d be like no, you get dressed anyway, pull yourself together, put some gloss on your lips and then Get out.”

Melissa added: “But she would be very excited about body acceptance. It would actually make her really happy.”

However, she admits that her mom would as well enjoyed the new GLP-1 weight loss drugs, such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro.

“Oh, you’d think Ozempic was the best thing since sliced ​​bread,” says Melissa. “Her two least favorite things were diet and exercise, so if she could find a way to avoid both? Awesome.”

Melissa says there is so much more she wishes she could tell her mom. “I think about her the most when something funny happens,” he says. “A lot of our phone calls started with, ‘Okay, are you ready for this?'”

And even though her mom is gone, Melissa still hears her voice all the time. “Way too many,” she says. “I think of her especially when I’m about to get upset, and I have to stop and think, ‘What would she do in this particular situation?’ And I can hear her voice saying, ‘Oh Melissa, please just stop. Get over it!'”
