Joe Jonas Returns to the Stage Without Wedding Ring After Filing for Divorce from Sophie Turner

Joe Jonas sings his heart out a day after filing for divorce from estranged wife Sophie Turner.

On Wednesday night, the Jonas Brothers singer, 34, appeared on stage with brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas in Phoenix, Arizona.

The band is currently in the midst of 35 North American concerts for their five albums. One night. The tour, which kicked off last month – and Joe opted for a particularly dapper suit with pink and white flowers for the final show.

A number of social media users also noted that the singer-songwriter – who shared a joint statement with Turner on Instagram on Wednesday announcing that the two had “mutually decided to amicably end our marriage” – was no longer wearing his wedding ring.

A video from the concert was shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) with the caption: “Confirmed: Joe Jonas is performing in Phoenix tonight without his wedding ring.”

In the video, Joe sang the band’s song “What A Man Gotta Do,” holding the microphone with his left hand. He then raised his hand in the air, revealing that he was without a wedding ring.

Another user shared shots from another angle a point that also highlighted Joe being on stage without his wedding ring. The video — which was simply captioned with three red heart emojis — showed him singing as Nick and Kevin stood beside him on stage.

On Sunday, the Jonas Brothers performed in Austin, Texas, amid news that Joe had hired a divorce attorney. That evening he was spotted wearing a wedding ring. But two days later, on Tuesday, Joe filed for divorce from Turner in Miami after four years of marriage. The filing claims that “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably dissolved.”

Joe and Turner, 27, have a prenuptial agreement, according to the divorce filing. Musician and ex Game of Thrones star married in 2019 after dating for nearly three years, and they have two children: Willa, 3, and a second daughter, identified in divorce papers as D., 14 months.

The filing comes days after PEOPLE reported that the singer had hired a divorce attorney, despite continuing to wear his wedding ring.TODAY was the first to report the submission.

The same day, a source told PEOPLE that the move wasn’t a “surprise” to those around them, as they spent “the entire summer apart.”

“They weren’t separated, but they’ve been living separate lives for months,” the source said.

On Wednesday morning, the exes broke their silence with a joint statement they each released on their social media accounts.

“A statement from the two of us: ‘After four wonderful years of marriage, we have jointly decided to end our marriage amicably,'” they both shared on Instagram.

Last November, Joe opened up during an interview with Mr. Porter about why he and Turner kept much of their relationship secret.

“I want to feel like an open book,” he told the publication. “But when we started dating, I realized that I don’t have a bunch of things that are just for me. And in the end, having something for myself makes me a better person.”
