“I just want to thank you all for your prayers and support, it’s been a tough long road but by God’s grace I will get through it,” Cissie, 71, wrote. “I’m with my daughter right now, but I’ll be home soon. I miss my dogs and some friends.”

She added that one day she wanted to live on a “beach with beautiful flowers” but had to find the perfect place. She also thanked people for their support.

In a previous Facebook post in February, Cissie shared that her cancer had returned after a decade, noting: “This is the worst [sic] but another, is also in my mouth.”

She said she would undergo surgery the next day and admitted she was worried about the procedure. “God, I wish my sweet mom could just hug me tonight,” she wrote at the time. “That’s all I’ll say, it’s too hard to talk about this anymore.”

Her family also shared the news of her surgery through Loretta’s Facebook page. “Today, Loretta’s daughter Cissie underwent critical surgery to battle cancer that has recently returned. Your prayers for Cissie and her family would mean a lot to us,” they wrote on February 12.

Cissie is also a country singer, and in 2011 she released an album with her husband John Beams that included covers of some of her mother’s songs. Loretta, who died in October 2022 aged 90, produced the album.

“I was definitely honored to do it,” Cissie told Nashville Music Guide during the recording of the album in 2011. “It’s hard to explain the feelings. My kids and my grandkids are going to listen to this album and say their mom and their grandma all did it. ”
