John Stamos wishes his wife Caitlin McHugh Stamos the best birthday!

“Happy birthday @caitlinskybound! Today we celebrate not only your 38th birthday, but also the amazing person you are,” he said Full house alum, 60, began by describing his sweet tribute on social media.

Stamos posted several photos of the couple, the birthday girl solo and McHugh Stamos with their son on the Instagram carousel.

He and his wife married in 2018 and share a son, Billy, 6.

“Every day, my heart swells with pride when I see your unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Thank you for existing and for everything you do!” Stamos continued.

He went on to express his gratitude for their life together, telling McHugh Stamos, “You’re a good person, Caitlin, and I’m happy to call you my wife and partner on this journey. More adventures, more dreams, more us. For you, for us, and for never settling for anything less than this amazing life we ​​have together!”

The couple recently celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary this year.

“Marriage is balancing two worlds on top of a promise, a lesson in compromise, a testament to trust,” Stamos captioned a Feb. 3 Instagram post, which included a black-and-white photo of himself smiling with McHugh Stamos as they sat cuddled together on their special day.

“It is a partnership of mutual respect, shared adventures and shared dreams. Happy anniversary, @caitlinskybound All my heart, forever. XOJS,” a fuller house the star wrote.

McHugh Stamos also shared a message to mark the occasion.

“In 6 years and I’m as happy as I am in this photo,” McHugh Stamos said in her caption. “Happy anniversary love. I am grateful to you for our beautiful life together. I love you my love. ❤️.”

In October 2023, Stamos spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about the positive impact his family has had on his journey to sobriety.

“They kept me on this path because going down the path of sobriety and self-care, everyone is trying. Everyone is doing it,” he said at the time. “It might kick in for a while. Then it’s like, ‘I can drink again.’ So staying on track is what they mostly do for me.”

He added that he had to “straighten out” in order to move on with his life with McHugh Stamos.

“Being older with someone younger, you go, well, you know everything and they should listen to me. But I always learn something from her,” he said. “What I love about our household with Billy is that there’s always a political conversation or a charity event going on.”

Stamos recalled his own childhood where his “mom was really into charity and giving back and stuff.”

But when he sees his wife doing things like traveling “to Tijuana to help the kids,” their bond grows even stronger.

“I just love it in our house and I love Billy seeing it,” he told PEOPLE.
