Jonathan Kolia Favreau was born in Flushing, New York on October 19, 1956 to Charles and Madeleine Favreau. He went to Hebrew school.
He graduated from The Bronx High School of Science in 1984. He attended Queens College but dropped out before graduating. He later moved to Chicago to pursue a career in comedy. He also temporarily worked at Bear Stearns on Wall Street.
