Jonathan Bennett embraces his sexy 43.
Bennett, who plays Danny in Hallmark+’s rom-com trilogy, Groom and co-created and hosts the upcoming reality competition series Searching for Mr. Christmas, shared his definition of “sexy” with PEOPLE at PEOPLE + Hallmark’s Sexiest Man Alive Countdown event on Thursday, Oct. 3.
“I think it’s sexy like when you get to that age — I know this is so stupid — but when you get to the age where your friends say, ‘Hey, let’s go out to dinner and then go out and do this tomorrow. Do you want to go?’ And you just say, ‘No, I’m tired, I want to stay home and that sounds like a terrible idea,'” Bennett explained.
He explained, “When you get to a point in your life where you just know who you are, that’s sexy.”

In July, out Mean girls star spoke with PEOPLE about the importance of presenting during San Diego Comic-Con, noting Groom is “the first time we’ve had a gay wedding on Hallmark as a main story.”
“And it’s a big step for the gay community to see themselves represented in these stories,” he added.

According to Hallmark’s official description, three Godfathers The films will follow “the lives and romantic relationships of three best friends of different backgrounds, cultures and sexual orientations — Pete (BJ Britt), a good-natured pediatrician with a penchant for planning; Danny (Bennett), an ex-athlete with a heart of gold; and Jackson (Tyler Hynes), a stylish and a charming social media agent — each finding love and happiness by getting married in picturesque locations in Greece, Italy and Bulgaria.”
Bennett and Hynes also executive produce the films directed by Ron Oliver.

Groom: first look debuts on October 17, followed by Groom: Second Chance October 24 and The Groom: The Last Dance October 31, all on Hallmark+.
