Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good’s Relationship Timeline

Jonathan Majors has been dating his girlfriend Meagan Good since May 2023.

The Belief III actor and Shazam: Wrath of the Gods the actress was first linked after they were seen together on a date in the film.

Reports of their relationship emerged two months after Majors was accused of physically assaulting a woman while riding in a taxi in New York in March. Court documents from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, obtained by PEOPLE, state that Majors “[struck the victim] with an open fist on her face, causing her severe pain and a laceration behind her ear.”

Majors “absolutely denies assaulting the woman,” according to his attorney, Priya Chaudhry, who also argued that the woman was being disingenuous about her version of events.

“Yet this bogus case continues, the woman’s location changes and her story changes,” Chaudhry said in a statement to PEOPLE after the hearing in May. “This is a witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, driven by baseless allegations. Instead of dropping the charges in the face of the woman’s clear lies, the prosecution adjusted the charges to fit the woman’s new lies.”

A month later, Chaudhry said Majors filed his own domestic violence lawsuit, calling his time with the alleged victim “an ongoing nightmare in their relationship.”

Since May, Majors has appeared in court several times with Good.

The couple first spoke publicly about their relationship when they appeared together at the eighth annual Congressional Black and White Gala in September 2023. At the event, Majors referred to Good as “Miss.”

Good was previously married to DeVon Franklin before they split in December 2021. The exes divorced in June 2022, just a week after what would have been their 10th anniversary.

May 13, 2023: Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are confirmed to be in a relationship

PEOPLE confirmed the couple is dating after Majors and Good were spotted going on a date to the Alamo Drafthouse in Los Angeles to see a movie. The news comes after Majors nearly appeared in court the same week following his arrest and assault and harassment charges.

May 15, 2023: A source tells PEOPLE that Meagan Good has given Jonathan Majors “support” amid the allegations

The Harlem the actress grew close to Majors amid his assault allegations and their friendship turned romantic at the time, a source told PEOPLE.

“Meagan and Jonathan have maintained a friendship for some time,” the source said.

“Meagan has shown him significant support,” the insider continued. “It seems like their relationship developed from that point.”

The couple were photographed holding hands as they disembarked from the plane. They traveled from NYC to LA together while Majors waited for his next court date.

June 20, 2023: Meagan Good accompanies Jonathan Majors to his court appearance

Majors appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court in New York for the hearing with Good at his side. They were photographed holding hands as they entered and left the courtroom.

Majors was wearing a brown suit, while Good was wearing a white dress and light brown jacket. During the appearance, Majors merely wished the judge good morning and received her instructions to appear in court on August 3 for arraignment.

June 28, 2023: A source tells PEOPLE that Meagan Good’s friends respect her “decisions” as she gets “more serious” with Jonathan Majors

While Good may have received backlash for dating Majors in light of the allegations against him, her friends have supported her decision to date whomever she wants, a source close to the actress told PEOPLE.

“It’s obviously not the best situation, but they’re letting her make her own decisions,” the source said. “It was a bit of a shock to see her go from [ex-husband DeVon Franklin]with faith at the center of their marriage, with Jon, but also understandable why she would choose someone who is completely different after being with the same person for so long and it not working out for her.”

The source added that Goode’s divorce from Franklin was “tough” on her. “Her divorce was very difficult for her, and the decision to end the marriage was something that both she and DeVon took very seriously,” the source said, adding that she “has a really, really good heart.”

The source also added that Good and Majors’ relationship is getting more serious.

“She and Jonathan are taking it slow, but it’s definitely progressing and getting more serious,” they said. “She wouldn’t be out and about with him so publicly or support him in his legal situation if the relationship didn’t mean something to her.”

Majors and Good were photographed holding hands once again outside Manhattan Criminal Court as he made his second appearance during his domestic violence case.

August 9, 2023: Meagan Good spends her birthday with Jonathan Majors

Good celebrated her 42nd birthday with her boyfriend. The couple was photographed walking in West Hollywood, California.

Majors, however, did not appear on Good’s Instagram carousel celebrating her birthday where she posed in a strapless green dress.

September 24, 2023: Jonathan Majors calls Meagan Good “Miss” in speech

The couple spoke publicly about their relationship for the first time at the Congressional Black Caucus’ 8th Annual Black and White Gala hosted by Good and Larenz Tate in Washington DC

In his speech, captured by video clip posted on XGood handed the microphone to Majors.

“We are so happy to be here tonight with all of you, celebrating us, celebrating the moves we make, celebrating the way we love and support each other, the way we change the world. Let’s go enjoy it!” Well said.

“So many beautiful black faces. I love us, all of you! We are so beautiful! That’s all I got. I’m happy to be here and I love you all!” she continued before handing it to Majors. “Honey, do you want to say something?”

Majors then said, “You all heard miss, so it is what it is.”

Sept. 25, 2023: A source confirms to PEOPLE that Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are not married

After Majors called Good “miss” and sparked speculation that he and Good were married, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the two are still in the dating phase.

Representatives for Good and Majors did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
