Chiles’ latest outings come after she and Team USA won the gold medal in the women’s gymnastics team final on July 30 at the Paris 2024 Games. She then won her first solo bronze for her floor routine on August 5 after finishing first in fifth place based on the judges’ scoring.

Last month, it was revealed that Chiles had been stripped of her medal after a Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) judge ruled that her score should be changed to more accurately reflect the level of difficulty of her routine. Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu was then promoted to third place, and her teammate Sabrina Maneca-Voinea took fourth place.

“To add to the heartbreak, the unprovoked racist attacks on social media are wrong and extremely hurtful. I put my heart and soul into this sport and I’m so proud to represent my culture and my country,” she continued during the call, dismissing the hateful messages she received the situation brought.
