Childhood and early career
Jordyn Huitema was born to wonderful parents in Chilliwack, British Columbia. She started playing soccer at the age of four, and at the age of ten she was a member of the Chilliwack FC boys’ soccer team. When she first came, many people asked, “Why is the girl wearing a jersey?” She was constantly subjected to remarks and stares, but that didn’t stop her from playing or doing what she wanted.
She joined Surrey United in the BCSPL when she was 12 years old. She played sports for fun until she was 13, when she started to take it seriously. According to her, 2012 was a turning point for her because she fell in love with sports even more and realized that she wanted to be on the podium with the team. She joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite program in 2015, in collaboration with BC Soccer. She was asked to train with the senior team at the age of 14 after her outstanding performances at youth level.
She realized she had to start early if she wanted to succeed at the World Championships, so she graduated early, traveled to Paris without a contract and slept in a hotel for six months before the World Championships to get the best training. She joined Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 18 in 2019 and became the first female athlete to turn professional after graduating from high school.
Her two brothers are also athletes.
Huitema has two brothers, both of whom play sports. Her brother Brody is a former member of the Vancouver Whitecaps residence hall and played for Duke University, while her other brother Trent played ice hockey for the Humboldt Broncos Canadian junior “A” hockey club in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
She dated Davies for five years until they broke up.
Huitema and Davies started dating in 2017 and quickly became a power couple that inspired many. In 2021, she was put to the test with NoStylist, where she discussed the degree of competitiveness between herself and Davies. She said that when they didn’t see each other for months, they planned something romantic at home, like making gingerbread houses, and when they saw each other every week, they spent time bowling or playing soccer against each other in his backyard Teqball table.
She said then that they are constantly competing against each other. She also admitted that she borrowed half of Davies’ clothes, joking that she travels to Munich with empty luggage and returns to Paris with a full suitcase because all of his things are too big for her except for jeans. Their relationship seemed strong and everyone expected them to get married sooner or later, but things didn’t go as planned. Rumors began to circulate about their breakup and Huitema’s infidelity.
Davies put an end to their five-year relationship by announcing their split in 2022. He also defended Huitema, telling followers that rumors of Huitema’s infidelity were unfounded. He said Huitema is a decent person whom he respects and urged everyone to respect their privacy. A fan on TikTok asked her why she cheated on Davies a few months after their breakup, and she responded by saying that she wasn’t the one who cheated.

After breaking up with ex-boyfriend Davies, Huitema moved on with her life. She took to Instagram last November to announce her relationship status. she is now in a relationship with Seattle Mariners baseball player Julio Rodriguez.
