Josh Altman is leaving A million dollar listing in Los Angelesconfirms PEOPLE.
“We just felt it was the right time,” Altman tells PEOPLE exclusively. “For the last few years, we have been in doubt whether we will continue to push. It was a very difficult decision and bittersweet for us.”
The latest call was only made in the last few weeks, Altman says, but it has been influenced by the last few (very busy) years.
“Since season 15 aired and now that we’re on hiatus, Heather and I have been spending some really quality time with the kids… We’re just at that point in our lives where family comes first and our kids are growing up so fast, you just have to appreciate every moment.”
He also notes that his departure has “nothing to do with the relationships on the show,” a nod to the tension between him and co-star Josh Flagg seen in the final season.

Instead, he says, “It has to do with us. We made it. My wife has been on that show since she was 20. I’ve been on that show since I was almost a new real estate agent. We’re different people than when we started.” series. We were babies when we started the series. It’s time to close that chapter.
And while he says another show is “not even on my radar,” he’s on good terms with everyone involved in its creation MDLLA. “We love our fans and the team behind the show and the producers and the people we work with… We feel so blessed to have been a part of something that changed the game.”
The celebrity real estate agent starred in Bravo’s long-running real estate series for 13 years, spanning 11 seasons. Altman joined the cast in the series’ fourth season, which premiered in February 2011, and last appeared in season 15, which ended in September 2024.
He also appeared in the spinoff Josh & Josh, which documented his rivalry that sometimes turned into friendship with Flagg in 2021.
In recent seasons, Altman’s wife, Heather, has also become a central figure in the show, delving into the personal lives of power brokers as they balance family and competition for eye-catching deals.
Bravo had no comment when contacted by PEOPLE. TMZ first broke the news.

Ahead of the season 15 premiere, Josh and Heather told PEOPLE that fans should expect a “rollercoaster.”
“It’s always going to be fresh because it’s real and it’s the market and what we’re dealing with, but also on the personal side,” said Josh, who leads the Altman Brothers team at Douglas Elliman with Heather and his brother Matt.
A sneak peek of the season showed Josh declaring, “There’s going to be some turbulence,” and he clarified to PEOPLE that he was referring to the market and the actors’ personal relationships.

“Some of our relationships that were gradually getting better, better, better have now gone back in the other direction,” he said.
Beyond MDLLA, Altman has bought and sold homes for numerous A-list clients, including Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Britney Spears and Calvin Harris.
The latest agent to leave the franchise was another longtime star, Fredrik Eklund, who appeared on Million Dollar Listing New York and Los Angeles. He announced his departure in January 2022, explaining that it was ‘time for the next chapter’.

“After an incredible 11 years, I’ve decided it’s time for the next chapter in my life and to leave A million dollar listing. It’s the end of an era and a new beginning for me,” he began a lengthy post addressing his decision.
James Harris and David Parnes also left after season 13.
It is currently unclear if Bravo plans to expand the cast for Season 16 as Josh Flagg and Tracy Tutor are currently the only remaining cast members.
