Josh Flagg Leaves Douglas Elliman for Rival Agency After Just Over 2 Years

‘Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles’ star says he’s “excited to start this next chapter”

Josh Flagg is making a big move from one high-profile brokerage to another.

The Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles star and celebrity real estate agent announced this week that he has left Douglas Elliman after just over two years to join Compass.

“I am excited to begin this next chapter with Compass,” Flagg said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “While I am grateful for my journey thus far, especially my former colleagues who are like family to me, I am finally ready to embark on my next endeavor and look forward to the great things we will achieve together.”

Flagg came to work at Elliman’s flagship California office in Beverly Hills with MDLLA cast members Tracy Tutor and Josh Altman in December 2021, after spending 10 years as luxury brokers at Rodeo Realty. At the time, he told PEOPLE that his colleagues were “instrumental” in his decision to make the switch.

With Tutor and Altman still working at Elliman, the trio are now at competing agencies. However, Flagg said The Hollywood Reporter that he does not believe the change will affect the show.

“We all have a great relationship and we do business together,” he said. “I don’t see this changing our dynamic in any way.”

However, as major renovations to the property delayed his move-in, Flagg settled into a luxury six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Bel Air.

“It’s got a tennis court, a pool, two guest houses and it’s in a great location in Lower East Gate, Bel Air,” he told PEOPLE last June about the LA resort.
