Anna Delvey will forever be an icon in Julianne Hough’s eyes!
A day after the convicted fraudster, 33, said she would not take “anything” of her time Dancing with the stars following her elimination from the show, Hough reacted on Instagram.
Sharing a clip from the telecast of the show on Tuesday, September 24th Dancing with the stars the presenter wrote: “There it is….. ICONIC 🤣☠️.”
The title referred to her immediate response during the broadcast, in which she said, “There, you’ve got nothing,” and co-host Alfonso Ribeiro said, “You’re having fun; stop it.”
While Tori Spelling and her partner Pasha Pashkov were also eliminated in the episode, Delvey’s elimination — and the overall cast of the show’s 33rd season — continues to draw attention.

Hough’s post was met with mixed comments from fans and other celebrities.
Perez Hilton wrote: “She shouldn’t have been on the show! She’s not an icon!!”

A fellow dancer and Dancing with the stars Alum Keo Motsepe commented, “Hhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha she said NOTHING wow 🤯.”
Delvey’s dance partner, Ezra Sosa, who was promoted to professional dancer this season, came to her defense, commenting, “I think she was referring to everything you would ‘physically’ take away.”
While PEOPLE wasn’t able to speak with Delvey after her elimination, she previously shared with PEOPLE after the Season 33 premiere that while she felt she “could have done better,” she had a “great experience.”
Sosa opened up about Delvey’s first week on the show in a TikTok video, saying she hid in the bathroom crying after the premiere amid backlash.
Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, became famous for posing as a wealthy German heiress and using her social position to defraud wealthy people, banks and hotels. She was arrested in 2017 and convicted of aggravated theft in the first, second and third degree and theft of services in 2019.

That May, she was sentenced to four to 12 years in state prison, fined $24,000 and ordered to pay restitution of about $199,000.

After her sentence was reduced when she was released in 2021 for good behavior, she paid restitution to her victims using the $320,000 she received from Netflix for the rights to adapt her life story into a series Inventing Anna, according to Insider.
After she was released, ICE detained her for violating the terms of her visa. She was living under house arrest in New York while she fought her deportation case. She told PEOPLE before the season started that she “had to ask ICE for permission to travel out of state.”

Dancing with the stars airs Tuesdays at 8pm ET on ABC and can be streamed the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
