The Oscar-winning actresses were seen in smiling selfies on Saturday
When two legends meet! Juliette Binoche and Shirley MacLaine teamed up for a selfie session during a friendly get-together, captured in rare photos Binoche, 59, posted to Instagram on Saturday.
“I wish you all a happy New Year 2024 with Shirley MacLaine 💘”, wrote the French actress in the description of the selfie.
The two iconic actresses flashed big smiles in both fun photos, which were taken while sitting next to each other at the restaurant.

In addition to being both Oscar winners, Binoche and MacLaine share a real-life character they both played — French designer Coco Chanel.
MacLaine played the late fashion designer and businesswoman in the 2008 biopic Coco chanel and Binoche is set to appear as Chanel in an upcoming Apple TV+ series A new lookpublished on February 14.
Speaking about last year’s role, Binoche said Diversity, “There were 10 great scripts because it’s 10 episodes, and it’s going to be like playing different roles because we’re going to show her in different stages of her life. But I can’t say more at this point.”
Binoche is set to play French designer Coco Chanel in the new series in February.

Binoche won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for English patient (1996), while MacLaine won Best Actress in the Terms Endearment (1983).
Last year, MacLaine celebrated the 40th anniversary of the classic film – which was nominated for a total of 11 Oscars – along with the rest of the cast, which included Jack Nicholson, Jeff Daniels, Danny DeVito and John Lithgow.
Director James L. Brooks spoke to PEOPLE about how he hired MacLaine Terms Endearment.

“It’s true that I spent maybe two months talking to great American actresses over 50, and it was fantastic. I’ll never have a moment like that again. Then, when I was with Shirley, it became clear that she was the one,” Brooks told PEOPLE in November.
“Historically speaking, she has one of the greatest careers of any American actress. Drama is her friend, of course, but she has a knack for comedy,” he added.
