JURGEN KLOPP called out Gareth Southgate after Liverpool’s draw with Manchester City.

The Reds boss was delighted with his side’s performance despite failing to find a winner in the title clash.

Alexis Mac Allister canceled out John Stones’ first-half strike but Liverpool did well to nullify City’s threat.

Jeremy Doku hit the post late on, but Erling Haaland was kept quiet by the youngster Jarrell Quansah.

Klopp praised the central defender after the game and also expressed his admiration for Joe Gomez.

And in the process, he called out England manager Gareth Southgate as he appeared to wonder why the defender didn’t get a call-up.

Klopp said: “Joe Gomez. Gareth, honestly??!”

Earlier this week, Klopp recommended Southgate take a look at Gomez, branding his versatility “wonderful”.

Klopp said: “I’m not standing here telling Gareth who he should pick.

“But you can get one player and have four positions covered. Wonderfully.”

Gomez has just 11 caps for England, the last of which came in October 2020, despite being an ever-present for Liverpool since Klopp took charge.

He is also capable of playing in all positions across the back line, and could return to England with the Three Lions in need of a left-back given Luke Shaw’s injury.
